Join us for a river and beach cleanup to tackle litter in and around the Rogue River. Community members will help to clean up gravel bars, the river, the beaches, and pull invasive weeds. See volunteer forms, maps, and brochures in the links below. This event is hosted by the Curry Soil & Water Conservation District.

WE WILL PROVIDE:

  • Small first aid kits, latex gloves, trash bags, safety vests, and sharps containers
  • Limited number of trash pickers (to be returned)
  • Dumpsters for any garbage you pick up
  • Celebration lunch FREE to you to say thank you!
  • Volunteer awards!
 

YOU SHOULD BRING:

  • Garden gloves (or something similar) if you want sturdier gloves. We will have limited pairs.
  • Sun clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
  • Comfortable, sturdy shoes
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Snacks to get you to lunch if you need them!
 
*Parking and Accessible Bathrooms are available at the Gold Beach Visitor Center and Quosatana Campground. Educational Activities are available for everyone (including limited mobility participants) at Quosatana Campground.

Schedule:

9 AM – 10 AM   Check In:  Register at the Gold Beach Visitor Center (94080 Shirley Ln, Gold Beach, OR 97444) to sign up for the day’s events! Sign volunteer waivers, collect gear, and get ready to clean up. You can also sign waivers ahead of time on the form below. There are restrooms available at this location.

10 AM – 12 PM   Litter Clean ups & Invasive Weed Pulling:  Join us to cleanup the river, the gravel bars, and the beaches to help steward the Rogue River. OR join the Curry SWCD crew on the Mill Bar to remove Scotch broom. This is your time to shine! There are no restorooms at these locations.

12 PM – 2 PM   BBQ Celebration Lunch: Join us, and all our partners, at the USFS Quosatana Campground Day Use Area for the Celebration BBQ!!  (From Gold Beach, Oregon, travel 14 miles east via Jerry’s Flat Rd./Forest Road 33, turn left into campground.). There are restrooms available at this location.
