The Chetco River receives high recreational use in the summer. The public is invited to give back by helping the South Coast Watershed Council and partners collect and dispose of trash. Participants have the option to collect trash along the river corridor in a kayak. No kayaking experience is necessary – expert guides will be leading the float trips and the Curry County Aquatic Saftey Officer will be on hand to give a safety talk before the float.  Participants also have the option to disperse to car-accessible gravel bars and collect trash by foot.

Kayaks, life vests, and shuttles will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis, so pre-registration is requested. Trash bags, trash grabbers, gloves, and high vis-vests will be provided. There will be free lunch for participants following the cleanup.
